Several books have found their way into my library through the years and I try to devour as many of them as possible. Whenever my wife asks me how I can possibly think that I will read them all, I just respond by saying my library is like a bountiful buffet table. I may not eat from every dish but at least I know its there if I need it.
Here are some books I am now reading or have recently completed:
John Newton: From Disgrace To Amazing Grace is a great book on the life of this dear man. I have read numerous biographies of his life and this is by far the most readable one of them all. You will find a man that was not a super saint but just a humble servant of the Lord.
Off The Map: Tales of Endurance and Exploration. This book us just for fun. I have always loved reading of explorers and their journeys. This book was recommended to me and has been so enjoyable it is hard to put down. A great read because of the relatively short chapters.
Her Heart Can See: The Life and Hymns of Fanny J. Crosby. This is an in depth look at Fanny’s life. It is not an easy read since the author spends what I believe is inordinate time documenting the historical milieu of her life. There are better biographies of Fanny’s life but none perhaps more full of detail of her times.
